FAQ Health Coaching

I am very excited to be able to take this coaching journey with you.

Here is some useful information about what to expect from health coaching.

What is coaching?

At its heart, coaching is about helping clients to become creators of possible. You are the expert on you. The curiosity, intuition and provoking conversation of the coaching alliance will help you to unlock your potential and talent. It will empower you to live your best life in whatever you choose to do.

Where will we meet?

We will meet at my consulting room at 16 Sea Breeze Crescent in Noordhoek or online via Zoom.

How often will we meet, and for how many sessions?

You can decide how many sessions you would like to book. To achieve a sustainable behaviour change, I would recommend meeting:

  • weekly for the first four weeks,

  • fortnightly in the following four weeks and then

  • once a month for at least four months.

 

This would mean 10 sessions over a period of 6 months.

However, ultimately, this is up to you, and we can adjust the frequency according to your goals and challenges. You may choose to discontinue coaching at any time, and all information shared will be kept strictly confidential.

 

What will we do in a typical session?

The first session (Education):

The very first session will be an informational and educative session. I will share information with you about the latest science of what constitutes a healthy life, including data on nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management.

I will explain to you what “insulin resistance” is and show you how it is associated with many chronic diseases. I will advise you on lifestyle changes to prevent or reverse insulin resistance.

If you have been to one of my talks already, or if for any other reasons, you feel you don’t want or need the initial education session, we can start with the first coaching session straight away.

The following sessions (Coaching): 

At each meeting, we will briefly chat about where things are, gain some insight, and consider new options. We will explore and work through these, to develop a new set of actions for the coming week, fortnight or month. In each session, we will work together to create tangible progress toward your goal. Coaching may include exploring values, making empowering requests and holding you accountable to commitments. As you have primarily engaged me for business coaching, I will sometimes give you specific and/or expert advice, information and solutions. However, you remain in control and responsible for all choices and decisions.

Between session expectations?

The work you do and the discoveries you make on your action plan between sessions are crucial to your success. I will look forward to hearing about your progress each week.

 

Cancellations

If you book a subscription plan, kindly note that these are non-refundable. Any booked session (single or as part of a subscription) may be postponed without a cancellation fee at least 24 hours before. 

 

How long is a typical session, and what does it cost?

A consultation session is 50 minutes long, the virtual format as part of a plan is a 25-minute video call, and other sessions and talks are as advertised. Please find current sessions and pricing here

Payment procedure

Kindly ensure online payment via the homepage or app interface when booking.

Alternatively, you may get in touch via email (prettyhealthful@icloud.com) to book and request a payment link via email or WhatsApp.
